Utharadesam starts its online edition

Kasaragod: Utharadesam Daily, the largest circulated newspaper in Kasaragod has started its online edition.

It features latest news and photos from kasaragod, Mangalore, Mumbai and Gulf. Launching the online edition the management has told that Online presence would increase their readership globally to a great extent in gulf countries, where the daily enloys great readership for over two and half decades. The Over the years the daily has earned the confidence of its readers spread over the villages and towns of Northern Malabar,South Canara,Mumbai and Gulf reflecting the real life of the people- social, cultural, political and economical.Apart from Utharadesam Malayalam Mid day daily, the group also brings out Utharadesa, Kannada evening daily from Kasaragod.

1982 February 17-
Our Journey begins.Well known writer Sri. Vaikkam Mohammed Basheer Inaugurated the newspaper.Noted Industrialist Sri. K.S. Abdullah received the first copy.

1982 December 10-
Due to technical reasons newspaper has been published in another name for short period.13 issues has been published with the title 'Jayanadam', which was owned by Merchant association Kannur District committee.

1982 December 23-
The title 'Utharadesam' has been alloted by the registrar of newspaper of India on 1982 December 21.The publication of the newspaper with the new name commenced on 1982 December 23.

1994 October 1-
Inauguration of Web Offset press and broadsheet size.Dr.Sukumar Azhikode inaugurated the function.Sri. M.Ramanna Rai presided the chair.Sri. K.S.Abdullah switched on the machine.

2002 December 29-

Twentieth Anniversary(Vimshathi) of the newspaper has been conducted in a big manner.Renowned Journalist Sri. V.K.Madhavan Kutty inaugurated the celebration.

2007-

Coming to the silver jubilee year Utharadesam has added a new feather in its cap.Installed a most modern Orient four colour printing machine-first of its kind in Kasaragod.Advertisers are benefitted with the option of giving advertisements in their true colours.
